Real-time visualisation of heart structures and function. Painless examination performed at the practice by our cardiologists.
The echocardiogram (or echocardiography) is a medical imaging examination that uses ultrasound to visualise the heart's structures in real time: its chambers, valves, pericardium and major vessels. It is the key examination in a cardiac assessment.
Painless and non-irradiating, it lasts approximately 30 minutes and is performed directly at the practice by one of our cardiologists.
You lie on the examination table with your chest bare. The cardiologist applies a cold conductive gel to your chest. No special preparation is required.
The doctor moves a probe over different areas of your chest to obtain complementary views of the heart: chamber size, wall thickness, valve mobility and contractile strength. The examination lasts 20 to 30 minutes.
At the end of the examination, your cardiologist explains the results immediately and provides you with a detailed report. This includes the ejection fraction measurement, chamber dimensions and valve condition.
